This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to [Cole Engineering Center Warren, Michigan ] three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]


The Strategic Projects team plays a critical role in the successful execution of strategic project management from idea generation to design, plan, monitor, closing of assigned individual projects as a lead.  As we expand our portfolio in pursuit of GM’s Zero/Zero/Zero vision, the team is seeking qualified candidates for a Strategic Projects as a Sr Analyst. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success who have strong knowledge within purchasing and supply chain

Key Job Responsibilities:

Provide support in the development and implementation of project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure adherence to project governance, processes and deliverables.

Conduct project reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.

Assist in the development and maintenance of project management tools, templates, and documentation.

Support the projects in monitoring performance, tracking key metrics, and preparing reports for stakeholders.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices within the organization.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in project management to enhance the effectiveness of the projects.

Additional Description

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Project Management or related field

Master degree preferred

6 years of professional work experience within Purchasing Required

Supply Chain is a plus

Automotive experience required

Successful history of positions in different functional areas and has deep knowledge of purchasing and supply chain business

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

History of developing and driving high performance teams

Understanding of many aspects of the business: including knowledge Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance, and Planning

Extensive understanding of the how to be agile in a large organization, resources, and functions

Demonstrate their history of positions in different  functional areas and deep knowledge within purchasing and supply chain organization with large Tier 1 or OEM

Frame and drive strategic purchasing decisions balancing business considerations and customer requirements. 

Anticipate risk and lead the development and implementation of contingency plans throughout the development process

Communicate clearly (from strategic intent to tactical implementation) through stand-alone presentations, leadership reviews, team meetings and 1:1 discussion with senior C-suite leaders

Develop strong teams through effective facilitation

This role involves a high level of strategic thinking, independent judgment and ingenuity.

Ability to work cross functionally and with various levels of management is a necessity
