Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jira Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and customizing Jira workflows, plugins, and integrations, with proficiency in both Jira Cloud and Data Center environments. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, but we prefer candidates who are local to the Melbourne, Florida area for occasional on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain custom Jira workflows, screens, schemes, and fields to meet business requirements.
- Develop and extend Jira capabilities through plugins and gadgets using the Atlassian Plugin SDK.
- Integrate Jira with other tools and systems, utilizing Jira REST API and other integration methods.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Jira-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored Jira solutions.
- Maintain and upgrade Jira instances, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Create and maintain documentation for Jira configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Jira best practices and usage.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Jira Developer or in a similar role, with 3-5 years of experience in Jira administration and customization.
- Strong knowledge of Jira administration, including creating custom workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, XML, and SQL.
- Experience with Atlassian tools, including Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
- Familiarity with both Jira Cloud and Data Center environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members and clients.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Atlassian Certified Jira Project Administrator) are a plus.
