This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
This role is critical for improving the quality of GM products including reducing warranty and improving E-FTQ by preventing defects and ensuring that GM VAPs are able to build and test the electrical system as designed for our vehicles. This role will support vehicle assembly plants, promote a Safety First and Customer Focused culture while improving first time quality by preventing defects through the vehicle launch process. This role is a vital part of a team that supports vehicle assembly plants while improving standards that drive product and process improvements.
What You'll Do
Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering and manufacturing sites
Identify root cause, corrective action, and track issues with Task, Owner, and timing to resolution during the launch process
Provide plant comparison data and read across actionable items.
Understand top issues plants are experiencing and read across to future programs to drive early intervention.
Work with plant teams to remove roadblocks impacting EFTQ and thruput issues.
Be the Voice of the Global Manufacturing Electrical and SDV team (formerly GEST)
Role requires up to 75% travel.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
3+ Vehicle Manufacturing Experience
Effective speaking, writing and listening abilities
Ability to identify issues and find solutions
Self-motivation and the ability to work in a diverse environment
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Overall vehicle electrical system experience
Automotive assembly plant operations experience.
GM quality systems
GM vehicle development process
Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture (i.e., ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet)
Manufacturing Engineering experience
