Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have full-cycle accounting experience with a preference for those who have worked in the construction industry. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. MUST BE LOCATED IN JAX FL

salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare variance analyses to support financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Account Reconciliation:
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
• Audit Support:
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement audit recommendations and improve accounting processes.
• Compliance and Controls:
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain internal control procedures.
• Construction Industry Focus:
  • Apply knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, work in progress (WIP), and percentage of completion accounting.
  • Monitor project budgets and costs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
